Last updated October 12, 2026. Muyu is built by two parents in Fremont, California. This page says what we collect and where it goes.
The waitlist on this site
Your name, email, whether you are a parent, teacher, or principal, your child's age band, and what you use today. It is stored in our Cloudflare account. We use it to email you once when the pilot is ready, and to reply if you write to us. We do not sell it or share it. Email [email protected] to be removed.
The practice app
The app is used by children with permission from a parent or from their Chinese school. For each learner we keep a first name or nickname, a class code, which characters were tapped, which were skipped or misread, the scores, and when. The teacher of that class can see it. That is all we store.
Three things leave our servers to be processed and come back:
- Reading aloud. The recording goes to OpenAI to be turned into text, is compared with the passage, and is discarded. We do not keep recordings.
- Questions and grading. The passage and the child's written answer go to Anthropic (Claude) to write the questions and grade the answer.
- Listen. The passage text goes to OpenAI to generate the audio, which we cache. No child data is involved.
Both providers process this under their API terms, which do not use it to train their models.
What we do not do
No advertising, no analytics, no trackers, no selling or sharing of data. The site and email are hosted on Cloudflare.
Deleting a child's data
Email [email protected] with the learner's name and class code. We delete it within seven days and confirm by reply. Parents can ask the same way what we hold.
Changes
If this page changes, the date at the top changes, and families in a pilot are told by email.
